Dr. Powell is the Extension Turfgrass Specialist, University of Kentucky. He is a native of Henry County and received his B.S. from UK in 1961 and M.S. in 1963. He received his Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in 1967 and served two years as an officer in the US Army, El Paso TX. He was employed two years at the Univ. of MD and another five years at Virginia Tech before coming home to UK in 1975.
