Directions to Griffith Woods
Griffith Woods is located in Harrison County, Kentucky, approximately 4 miles southwest of Cynthiana and 15 miles east of Georgetown
on U.S. Highway 62. US 62 bisects the farm into 2 blocks, and Russell Cave Rd. (State Rd. 353) forms the south block's western boundary.
The site is also located about 25 miles northeast of Lexington, the state's 2nd largest city.
From Interstate I-75 and I-64 west of Lexington:
- If on I-64, proceed to I-75 north towards Cincinnati.
- Take I-75 Georgetown exit 126 and go east on US 62 toward Cynthiana for a distance of about 12 miles. On your way you will pass the
Toyota manufacturing plant (your left) at about mile 2-3.
- Look for the State Road 353 road sign and subsequent intersection on your right, then proceed about ¼ mile past that and look for
the Old Griffith Tavern and Griffith Woods main entrance sign at the first gravel road on the right. That is the main site entrance.
- Turn right through the front gate and down the gravel driveway where you will hang a left and park at the barn.
From Interstate I-64 east of Lexington and west of Mt. Sterling:
- Proceed to Winchester, KY and take the I-64 exit 98/KY 627/Paris exit where you will drive approximately 17 miles north towards
Paris on KY 627
- Turn left at E 10th St - go 480 ft
- Turn right at Main St - go 0.1 miles
- Turn left at US-460 (Georgetown Rd.)- go 1.5 miles
- Turn right at US-27 N/US-68 E - go 0.4 miles
- Bear left at US-27 - go 13 miles towards Paris
- Turn left at stoplight of the US-27/US-62 Intersection and go about 3 miles
- You'll pass Gray's Run Road marked at the intersection by a bright red brick house on your right at about mile 2.5 or so
- Go another ½ mile or so until you reach the Old Griffith Tavern and Griffith Woods main entrance sign at a gravel road on the left.
That is the main site entrance.
- Go down the gravel driveway where you will hang a left and park at the barn
- If you reach State Rd. 353 you're past the entrance by ¼ mile
From Interstate I-64 east of Mt. Sterling:
- Proceed to Mt. Sterling, KY and take exit 110
- Go north on State Rd. 11/US-460 for about 1 mile until you reach the US-460 split. Turn left on US-460 towards Paris and go ~22 miles.
You'll pass through the small hamlet of North Middletown about midway on your way.
- When entering Paris, at the base of the hill take a right at the Shell Gas Station onto US-68 and go about ¼ mile
- Take a left onto the Paris bypass at the traffic light and go about 3 miles
- Taka a right onto US-27 north towards Cynthiana and go about 13 miles north
- Turn left at stoplight of the US-27/US-62 Intersection and go about 3 miles
- You'll pass Gray's Run Road marked at the intersection by a bright red brick house on your right at about mile 2.5 or so
- Go another ½ mile or so until you reach the Old Griffith Tavern and Griffith Woods main entrance sign at a gravel road on the left.
That is the main site entrance.
- Go down the gravel driveway where you will hang a left and park at the barn
- If you reach State Rd. 353 you're past the entrance by ¼ mile. Turn around
From Lexington:
- Take New Circle Rd. (Road #4) until you reach Russell Cave Road (State Rd. 353)
- Take Russell Cave Rd until it ends at US-62, or about 20 miles
- Take a right onto US-62 and proceed about ¼ mile and look for the Old Griffith Tavern and Griffith Woods main entrance sign at the
first gravel road on the right. That is the main site entrance.
- Turn right through the front gate and down the gravel driveway where you will hang a left and park at the barn.
Using an Internet Mapping Program to Get Driving Directions:
- Type in your departure address
- Type in Broadwell, KY for your destination address - the directions should take you to the intersection of Russell Cave Rd.
(State Rd. 353) and US 62 which comprises the northwestern property boundary of the south block of the farm. If you were heading north
on 353 or east on US 62, continue another ¼ mile until you reach the Old Griffith Tavern and Griffith Woods main entrance sign at a
gravel road on the right. That is the main site entrance. If you were heading westbound on US 62 you'll see the main entrance and sign
on the left about ¼ mile before you reach Broadwell.
